We are looking to recruit a Personal Assistant (on behalf of a family) to provide support with their child who has Autism/Communication Sensory needs. The Personal Assistant will need to work closely with the family and will be required to support the child whilst out in the Community to access relevant activities/walks in the park etc.
A Personal Assistant works directly with one or more individuals to support them with various aspects of their daily life so that they can live it in a way they choose. You will be employed directly by the family of the person who needs care and support. Daily tasks could include help with communication, physical tasks, and taking the child out into the community to do activities.
Experience with young children desirable. Previous work with disabilities an advantage but neither are necessary as additional training will be provided. Training will be given, if required, in areas such as Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Manual Handling and Paediatric First Aid. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to starting with the family and will be provided.
As a Personal Assistant, you are likely to be involved in many aspects of your employers life and may be asked to support in the home, at leisure or at work. The family require 15 hours per week which would increase to 18 hours during school holidays. Working hours required are after school/evenings Monday - Friday and Weekends (To be agreed between the Personal Assistant and the family) Hourly rate of pay is £11.44 per hour.
Due to the nature of the job, the minimum required age of applicants is 17 years + and would ideally live in Halton and the surrounding boroughs.
