Position Title: Safe and Effective Care Lead Band: 7-8a (depending on experience) Department/Service: Nimbuscare Clinical Services Reports To: Associate Director of Governance Accountable To: Director of Urgent Care Professionally Accountable To: Associate Director of Governance The Safe and Effective Care Lead will provide expert leadership in clinical quality management, patient safety, patient experience, and clinical effectiveness across Nimbuscares clinical services. The role involves ensuring compliance with national and local policies, conducting audits, and meeting regulatory requirements related to clinical quality performance. The post holder will facilitate access to reliable clinical quality information, promote improved clinical standards, and enhance patient experiences. Additionally, the role includes coordinating risk management and ensuring effective clinical governance systems aligned with Nimbuscares standards. Clinical Leadership: Provide clear, visible leadership and support for Nimbuscares clinical contracts. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Governance to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care. Lead the risk management process and foster a culture of appropriate risk escalation. Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national standards and access targets Service Development and Improvement: Identify trends and opportunities for service improvement related to patient safety and experience. Develop and coordinate policies and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., CQC, NHSE/I, CCG). Work with Operational Service Managers to identify and address areas for service improvement, including capacity and demand. Monitor and report on the implementation of improvement plans following assessments. Team Management and Collaboration: Manage and support administrative staff. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment. Effectively communicate information to ensure awareness of service priorities and objectives. Clinical Governance and Compliance: Implement and embed Nimbuscares Patient Safety Incident Response Plan and the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. Ensure effective systems of internal control and clinical governance. Coordinate regular audits and reviews of clinical practices with Nimbuscares audit team. Prepare Nimbuscare Services for peer reviews and other inspections. Education and Training: Collaborate with the Education by Nimbuscare team to promote continuous professional development and lifelong learning. Work with the Associate Director of Governance to develop and implement training programmes for allied health professionals and clinical staff. Completion of all mandatory and essential to role training. Patient Engagement and Experience: Utilise patient feedback to drive service improvements. Collaborate with Nimbuscares Patient Liaison Team to address patient concerns and complaints promptly. Ensure patients are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Provide support during patient safety incidents. Administrative Responsibilities: Ensure high standards of work output. Prepare performance reports for relevant meetings. Provide administrative support for meetings and events. Play a key role in Rapid Review meetings and incident management. Assist with risk assessments and mitigation, ensuring they reflect the current risk status. Support the Associate Director of Governance and Quality Compliance.
