As a Regional Planner, you’ll oversee the planning and scheduling of multiple live projects valued up to £1 million. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring delivery programmes are realistic, coordinated, and risk-aware—adding value through proactive planning support and stakeholder collaboration.
You’ll also contribute to the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, helping shape construction strategies and timelines from the outset.
Duties
1. Create, develop, and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6 (MS Project or Asta also considered)
2. Monitor project progress, identify delays or risks, and provide mitigation strategies
3. Work closely with site and project teams to gather input for planning purposes and ensure programmes are aligned with on-site realities, logistics, and constraints
4. Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies and advising project teams on recovery plans where slippage occurs
5. Support ECI planning and provide input into tender-stage submissions
6. Liaise with commercial, design, and delivery teams to align programmes and ensure feasibility
7. Produce programme updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders
Person Specification
1. Proven experience as a Planner on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
2. Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (or other planning software such as Asta/MS Project)
3. Ideally from an engineering background – with the ability to understand the practical challenges of working on site
4. Excellent communication and coordination skills
5. Experience managing multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously
