The Mosaic Partnership is a multi-academy Trust of 12 schools serving diverse urban and rural communities in Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire. The Trust formed in 2024 with the ambition to transform the lives of children through collaboration. Here is a bit more about the role:

PURPOSE
We are looking to recruit an Area Improvement Leader as a member of the Trust’s Central Executive Team; to lead on school improvement across our family of schools. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified professional who is culturally aligned with our Trust principles and who has the drive, ability, initiative and creativity to make a real and direct impact upon children’s learning. The role would suit someone who has experience of driving positive change in schools, has strong pedagogical and inclusion knowledge and has a proven track record in school improvement.
Overall Responsibilities
1. To be a champion of the Mosaic Partnership Trust principles and a cultural ambassador for equality, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
2. To understand the importance of the 7 Trust principles in supporting school improvement and educational excellence.
3. To lead the work of the Trust in equalities and disadvantaged children.
4. To understand each school’s context and identity, celebrating difference and diversity.
5. To advocate for the Trust and its culture at a school, local and national level.
6. To take on other agreed cultural responsibilities as directed by the Director of Education and CEO.
School Improvement
1. To direct, advise, guide and support Headteachers and senior leaders under the guidance of the Director of Education in all aspects of school improvement.
2. To support the practical implementation and delivery of the Trust Strategic Priorities and the Trust Education Priorities with direction from the CEO and Director of Education.
3. To attend Area Improvement, Headteacher and Trust Central Team meetings as defined by the CEO and Director of Education.
4. To have a granular understanding of the educational strengths and areas of development for each Mosaic school.
5. To be directly involved in day to day practical and operational support for all schools.
6. To lead the Trust’s work with its ‘Accelerate Schools’ and be a visible on the ground presence as appropriate.
7. To oversee the work of the Trust’s networks.
8. To report on and provide analysis of academic performance, attendance and behaviour data advising the CEO and Director of Education on patterns and trends.
9. To work with the Inclusion and Pedagogy Leads of the Trust in improving the quality of education on the ground.
10. To support the programme of ‘Peer Review’ across the Trust.
11. Work with the Director of Education in the development of aligned principles for areas such as teaching, attendance, behaviour and safeguarding.
12. To lead targeted and focused pieces of work as directed by the Central Team.
13. To lead aspects of professional development for Heads, school staff and Academy Community Councillors.
14. To provide mentoring and coaching support to those new, in acting or seconded positions as directed by the CEO or Director of Education.
15. To support the central team in their due diligence in schools joining the Trust in the area of school improvement.
16. Support the centralised recruitment strategies.
17. To have a thorough understanding of both the Ofsted and SIAMS inspection frameworks.
18. Support schools on an ongoing basis and more specifically before, during and after the inspection process.
19. To liaise with external partners including different local authorities.
20. The post holder may be asked on a short term basis to step in temporarily to a headship position.
