Responsible for the growth of our world leading wafer handling and process systems, the Platform Engineering Group are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Newport, Wales. Purpose of the role We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. Reporting to our Platform Hardware Manager the Electrical Engineer will work supporting key customer accounts. This will involve initially working within smaller R&D teams to gain experience of SPTS products, before moving to a ‘core’ engineering team providing engineering support to key customers. This would be a demanding role involving direct contact with worldwide customers and suppliers. Some occasional out of office hours meetings will be required. Design changes for obsolescence Producing documentation for field labelling of systems Attending customer and supplier project meetings Supporting other departmental projects Minimum Qualifications You will ideally be qualified to Degree or have equivalent experience Is an Electrical Engineer with experience in the following areas Fixed installation machines 3phase power distribution for 400/200v systems and control boxes Safety systems complying with EN13849, EN60204, UL508(for example) Has experience in completing detailed drawings for machine installation. Can produce drawings with AutoCad electrical and willing to learn a 3D CAD package such as SolidEdge. Good understanding of worldwide electrical regulations with the ability to work with 3rd part regulators. Able to confidently work with customers and suppliers Work to tight timelines Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills Can work both autonomously and as part of small and extended teams Has worked in a manufacturing environment (ideally complex manufacturing) We offer a competitive, family friendly total rewards package.
