Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a sterile environment. Responsibilities
1. Assist surgeons during operations by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
2. Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures.
4. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
5. Conduct pre-operative assessments and assist in post-operative care.
6. Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and patient information.
7. Implement infection prevention control measures to minimise risks.
8. Stay updated on advancements in surgical techniques and technologies.
Skills
1. Strong knowledge of critical care practices, particularly in ICU settings.
2. Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection prevention control.
3. Understanding of human physiology and medical terminology relevant to surgery.
4. Ability to analyse patient data and respond appropriately during procedures.
5. Experience or knowledge in paediatrics is advantageous.
6. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff.
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
