Role
The Youth Agency works with young people aged 8-25, within Wester Hailes and the surrounding communities of Broomhouse, Sighthill, Parkhead and Longstone.
The Youth Agency is looking for youth workers with experience of working/volunteering with young people in youth club/drop-in settings or detached work.
We would also be interested to hear from people with experience in related fields who would like to develop youth work skills.
Applicants should possess the following qualities:
1. Ability to think on your feet, act quickly and respond to situations
2. Common sense and initiative
3. Observant and thorough with excellent attention to detail
4. Non-judgemental, competent, conscientious and self-aware

Pathways Project Worker
The Pathways Project Worker will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive support to young people aged 11-25 and their families within the local community. As part of the Connect Pathways initiative, you will address the challenges posed by the rising cost of living through one-on-one mentoring, group sessions, and workshops focusing on financial literacy, mental health, and access to essential services.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people and their families by providing practical resources, immediate financial relief, and ongoing guidance to help them navigate their challenges.
* On site: Dalkeith. Travel throughout Midlothian, including operating from other venues, will be required.

Role
The postholder will be responsible for developing the service - this will include delivering weekly youth groups and planning activities alongside young people. The post will also provide one-to-one support for young people. We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting and working with young people in a non-judgmental and empathetic way. A good knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting LGBT+ young people is essential.
There is no specific qualification required; however, the post holder will be expected to be educated to degree level in a relevant field such as Health, Community Education, Social Work or Education, but significant equivalent experience will also be considered. The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary service and work effectively with other agencies in partnership settings. This post may require regular evening working.
