The Network Administrator will work with the Information Services team to support the HCS employee technology needs. Specifically, this role will work in tandem with the current Network Administrator and IT team to oversee the day-to-day operations of the on-premises data center and associated cloud services. This will include, but is not limited to, duties such as:
1. Implementation, administration, and maintenance of a virtual server infrastructure with its various components.
2. Administration of various cloud services utilized by HCS.
3. Supporting a multi-office network infrastructure.
4. Disaster recovery planning and implementation.
5. Supporting the IT helpdesk.
6. Internal tool development.
Position Specifics
Location: Abingdon, VA with hybrid in-office and work-from-home schedule
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Compensation: Salary commensurate with education/experience; starting at $65,000 for well qualified candidates.
Education/Experience Required
• Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Services and five years of experience.
• Knowledge of enterprise networks and associated technologies (routing, switching, firewalls); Knowledge of server and network virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM); Solid understanding of Windows Server and associated services (AD, DNS, DHCP, File and Print services, etc.); Understanding of Linux server administration (CentOS/RHEL) and associated services (LAMP/LEMP stack, WordPress hosting, GitLab); Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, bash, or Python); Clear written and verbal communication skills; Experience training technical and non-technical users; Familiarity with cyber security best practices.
Education/Experience Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Services.
• Experience with enterprise firewall, router, switching, and WiFi systems; Experience with SDWAN implementations; IT automation skills; Experience with network storage and associated protocols (iSCSI, SAN, NAS); Experience with hybrid cloud deployments (Azure, AWS) and implementing SSO between cloud SaaS products. Internal tool development using scripting (PowerShell) or programming languages (C#); Technology certifications; Experience with cyber security audits; Public speaking and presentation skills.
