Role Summary:
Videndum designs, engineers and manufactures technologically advanced equipment for the TV, film and photographic industries. As such, we manage a large global supply chain to source supplies for our factories and services for our wider business. The Procurement Director plans and executes the procurement activities to ensure we maximise the return on our investments. Reporting to the Divisional CEO, this is a leadership role, where the incumbent is expected to utilise their extensive skills and experience to put the policies, processes and strategies in place for the wider business to understand and follow. Success in this role is reducing the net spend with our suppliers whilst ensuring good working relationships are maintained.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Manage the entire lifecycle of sourcing and procurement projects, from planning and bid preparation to budget/forecasting, negotiation, invoicing and reporting.
2. Develop product category strategies aligned with business needs, build a supply chain capable of delivering the desired service levels, at competitive cost and ensure suppliers are willing to invest in the strategy.
3. Drive savings by developing and applying various strategies such as volume leverage, supplier concentration, supply chain segmentation and negotiate prices, schedules and other terms as required.
4. Develop collaborative long-term partnerships with suppliers, contractors and outsourced service providers to reduce costs, to meet legislative requirements and achieve high quality outcomes.
5. Drive cost improvements across the supply chain through continuous review and revision.
6. Develop a strategy with key stakeholders on inventory management and manage and control inventory levels within agreed parameters and maintain accurate stock levels.
7. Responsible for regular forecasting demand to ensure on time supply. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against metrics for price, quality, delivery, and customer service.
8. Identify appropriate department KPI’s and measure and monitor performance against these.
9. Control and co-ordinate the site-based stores function to ensure adequate control of stock levels and cost efficiencies against budget.
10. Ensure that procurement activity is compliant with all relevant regulatory and best practice frameworks.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Experience of implementing asset management systems.
2. Ethical Procurement and Supply certificate.
3. Proven and visible leadership capability, with the ability to use a variety of leadership approaches in order to achieve results.
4. Proven project/programme management experience.
5. Able to constructively challenge the status quo.
6. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
7. Diplomatic with excellent negotiating skills.
8. Clear, logical thinker, able to present a compelling business case supported by data and analysis.
9. Health and safety knowledge.
10. MCIPS accreditation.
