Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager - Our client is currently recruiting a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join their specialist Civil Engineering contracting business based in Henfield. The company that the HSW Manager will be working for is a well-established Civil Engineering contractor, working on projects from conception through construction to project delivery. The company's specialities span across a variety of different sectors including water and wastewater, infrastructure, and coastal protection.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Position Overview
1. Manage all aspects of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, taking responsibility for developing, implementing & maintaining H&S standards.
2. Ensure that staff carry out design and construction activities in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015 and the Contractor's Health and Safety Management Plan.
3. Support the Client in their partnership with MIND to promote positive mental health.
4. Demonstrate compliance with best practices and meet or exceed all statutory obligations.
5. Develop and implement plans for reward and recognition of HSW good practices or behaviours.
6. Coordinate drug and alcohol procedures to meet the screening, supporting, and disciplining requirements described in the Contractor's corporate policies.
7. Provide a progress update on HSW as part of the Monthly Report, ensuring all H&S legislation and rules are followed.
8. Carry out site inspections & audits to ensure high standards & project targets are met.
9. Investigate & report on all accidents, incidents & near misses.
10. Establish & actively promote working relationships between all sites through effective communication & ensuring procedures are followed.
11. Attend Health and Safety meetings.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Position Requirements
1. At least 5 years' experience in Civil Engineering.
2. A recognised Health & Safety qualification - NEBOSH Construction or similar.
3. Experience of managing multi-skilled teams, establishing performance expectations & Wellbeing initiatives.
4. Understanding of the principles of H&S issues, compliance & legislation (CSCS card and SEATS / Mental Health First Aid desirable).
5. Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and the Contractor's Health and Safety Management Plan.
6. Full driving licence.
Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager Position Remuneration
1. Salary - Dependant on experience.
