Job Summary: As a Production Operator in the Environment & Waste Management Department, you will be responsible for carrying out critical tasks related to the routine environmental tasks and the operation, control and monitoring of water treatment plants. Your role will require meticulous attention to detail, safety protocol adherence, and team collaboration to maintain environmentally responsible operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Waste Handling: Safely and efficiently collect, sort, and transport waste materials generated during the manufacturing process, following established procedures and guidelines. Working with external waste companies.
2. Recycling: Coordinate recycling activities, ensuring the proper separation and disposal of recyclable materials, and maintain recycling equipment as needed.
3. Data Recording: Accurately record data related to waste quantities, types, and disposal methods for reporting and analysis.
4. Compliance Support: Assist the Environment & Waste Management team in ensuring that waste management activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspection of waste handling equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
6. Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
7. Waste Reduction: Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for waste reduction and process improvements that align with sustainability goals.
8. Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response drills and assist in implementing emergency response plans for environmental incidents.
9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to waste management activities, as required by regulatory agencies.
10. Other duties: Support the wider department (EHS/Fire & Facilities) when required.
11. Waste Water Treatment Plant:
* Operating and monitoring the wastewater treatment plants
* Balancing water treatment process for optimum efficiency
* Operating and monitoring the reverse osmosis plants
* Once trained using initiative to resolve any issues in the wastewater treatment plants/reverse osmosis plants in a timely manner
* Transporting and maintaining levels of chemicals (inc. oils) in Chemical dept. plants
* Maintaining high levels of housekeeping in working area
* Communicating with supervisor or manager regarding the processes Inc. ordering of chemicals, waste skips etc
