Engineering Team Leader

Imperial Recruitment Group is recruiting for a manufacturer who is looking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader to be based at their Middlesbrough site.
Purpose:
Will take an active part in maintaining, developing, and improving plant machinery and services. This will involve a variety of duties ranging from promptly repairing breakdowns to installing new equipment. Ensuring that Health & Safety and Quality Standards are achieved in all aspects of their work.
Duties:
1. General maintenance duties.
2. Supervise other shift engineers and machine minders.
3. Ensure daily engineering tasks are completed, including signing all tool kits and conducting spot checks on other engineers' tool kits.
4. Detail work to other engineering members.
5. Liaise with Engineering Supervisor.
6. In the absence of the site engineering manager, deputise and act as a point of contact for the site management team, Senior Engineering manager, and Manufacturing director.
7. Daily duties will include:
1. Electrical/Electronics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Conveyors (wirebelt).
2. Installations, strong fault finding is essential, Inspections, Servicing.
8. Planned preventative maintenance.
9. Project improvement schemes.
10. Maintenance, installations, and repair of electrical/mechanical equipment.
11. Contribute to improvement.
12. Participate in development activities as required.
13. Any other duties that could reasonably be expected as being within the remit of the post.
14. Drive site efficiency in a forward direction, showing a desire to drive engineering forward and passion towards other customers (e.g., production, NPD technical).
15. Organise engineering tasks and prioritise workloads of other shift engineers.
16. Ensure weekend workloads are completed effectively.
Requirements:
1. Qualified multi-skilled engineer with electrical bias, a proven track record, and strong engineering background.
2. Experience of PLC/HMI controls with 17th Edition.
3. Experienced in fast-moving engineering environment, ideally food-related.
4. Must have good leadership skills, be flexible with a “can do attitude” and forward-thinking.
5. Good time management skills.
6. Excellent knowledge of fault finding and preventative maintenance.
7. The ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
