We have an exciting opportunity for experienced and motivated individuals to join our technical team based at the Music Hall and the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen. Our hard-working and dedicated team make the magic happen as they support artists and their teams to bring live performances to the stage.
You will be responsible for delivering all technical and production elements of performance, conference, events and meetings taking place in our iconic city-centre venues.
The ideal candidate will have good experience of working in technical roles in the performing arts. Our technicians need to turn their hand to a variety of tasks across a range of genres from theatre to music, comedy to events, so you will be required to be a multi-skilled technician, although you may have a particular specialism. For this role we are looking for at least one successful candidate with a background in sound primarily as well as lighting and AV. Skills in other practical areas such as carpentry or electrics would be helpful, but not essential. We provide regular training and upskilling opportunities too. Most important of all is a positive and flexible approach to work.
Our team has really high standards and will rely on you to ensure first class production standards at all events, that health and safety is maintained at all times, that excellent customer service is provided to anyone we encounter, and that our venues and equipment are maintained and always ship-shape and show ready.
Aberdeen Performing Arts is a real living wage employer, and we offer an excellent benefits package which includes staff discounts and offers.
We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to the principles of diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our organisation. In that spirit, applicants from diverse or under-represented backgrounds, experiences, ability and perspectives are actively encouraged to apply. We recognise that women and those from the global majority* are particularly under-represented in Technical roles in our industry – please get in touch, we would love to hear from you. We are recruiting on a permanent, salaried basis and we are happy to consider candidates on a full-time or part-time basis (full time hours are 2,080 per year, based on an average of 40 per week). Our team generally work 5 days out of 7 and regular evening and weekend working is an essential part of the job (but also where all the fun happens!). Full time salary is £30,744 per year.
