Umbrella Pay: £18+ per hour during the waking shift and £40+ if you do a sleep in
Ongoing, Rota basis including waking nights and sleep ins
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality care to looked after young people in a small group home to deliver the best possible outcomes.
* Contribute to the development and review of the young person’s plans, risk assessments, daily records and logs, ensuring that plans are up to date and have been read and signed.
* Provide day to day care and support, consistent with the young person’s placement plan, care plan, therapeutic support plan, and any other plans.
* Where appropriate, support young people with personal care.
* Promote independence skills to better able young people to move on to independence.
* Provide intervention outside of the home including in the community or the child’s own home as part of an outreach intervention.
* Contribute to the evaluation of risk and the protection of young people from abuse in or away from the home.
* Ensure that the home adapts a supportive educational structure where children do not attend full time education, employment or training, and where this is the case, to advocate strongly for full time education or training.
* Work with parents to support in the development of strategies aimed at reducing behaviour that challenges.
* Develop and maintain trusting working relationships.
* Attend scheduled appointments and meetings, LAC reviews, PEPs as well as any other relevant meetings in a professional context.
* Assist in full domestic duties around the house ensuring that it is safe.
* Ensure that any repairs are completed on time and where there are issues in the home including repairs and decoration, raise these as soon as is practical.
Requirements
* Level 4 Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) within 2 years of appointment.
* Experience of working with children.
* Ability to work one on one and in groups with children and their parents where required as part of an outreach function.
* An understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations.
