Summary AS A NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration and detection of radioactive materials in diagnosis and therapy. The technologist verifies patients' record, prepares and administers the radio-pharmaceutical in prescribed dosages, positions the patient for imaging procedures, and operates the nuclear camera and equipment. The technologist prepares the results and presents them to the radiologist. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is knowledgeable about radiation safety and keeps inventory of the radio-pharmaceuticals and is responsible for their safe storage and use along with disposal or radioactive waste. Qualifications Other information: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine technology program and must possess certification in nuclear medicine from the AART (American Registry or Radiologic Technologists) or the NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).
