Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Level 2 Infrastructure Engineer to join our busy team based at our Data Centre in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. You will be responsible for the day-to-day proactive management and support of servers, storage, and associated technologies, which provide the foundation for our platforms and customer services. The ideal candidate should be flexible to accommodate customer requirements and possess a drive to deliver high-quality customer service. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to systematically address issues and communicate clearly with stakeholders, are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide proactive support and monitoring for Telefónica Tech MS hosted environments.
2. Triaging and resolving issues raised by customers and internal users.
3. Provide second-line support for an RDS environment.
4. Deploy and proactively monitor virtual machines on VMware Hypervisor platforms.
Skills & Experience:
1. Experience working within ITIL processes and guidelines.
2. Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage priorities.
3. Experience working within a dedicated IT department.
4. Understanding of Virtualisation and backup technologies.
5. Knowledge of Active Directory & Group Policy Management.
6. Experience with Service Desk software.
7. Experience working with Blue Light Services.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Valid driver’s license and access to transport, as site visits may be required.
Required Technical Skills:
1. ITIL v3 Foundation or higher.
2. Deployment of Virtual Machines using VMware.
3. Experience with automated patch management tools.
4. Methodical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
5. Active Directory Management.
6. Group Policy Management.
Desired Technical Skills:
1. Windows Group Policy creation and management.
2. Support for Windows Terminal Server Environment.
3. VMware accreditation.
4. Exposure to Storage and SAN Fibre management.
Additional Information:
Work hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, on a rolling shift pattern: 07:00-15:00, 08:00-16:30, and 14:30-23:00. Weekend work (2.5 hours) is required once every three weeks, on either Saturday or Sunday.
Due to our location, access to personal transport is essential. Candidates must meet BPSS, Security Clearance, and NPPV3 clearance requirements, which are conditional upon passing all clearance checks.
