The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and/or working conditions of the role.
About this opportunity
Westmorland and Furness Council are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated person into a Street Cleansing role within their Street Scene Department. The role is to assist in ensuring that the highest standard of cleansing services are delivered and maintained for residents in the South Lakeland area.
Applicants must hold a current full UK driving licence.
The role requires a flexible approach to the work of the Street Scene Group, and a high level of commitment to delivering excellent service is essential. The nature of the work means that the post holder will come into contact with members of the public and a polite, helpful approach is essential along with good customer skills and a professional attitude as they are representing the Council in the local area.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake IOSH Working Safely and full training will be given in the use of any plant or machinery with which the successful candidate may be unfamiliar.
The post will be based at Kendal Depot and the hours of work are working Sunday to Thursday. You will work from 6.30am – 2.30pm on a Sunday – Thursday and 6.30am – 2pm on a Friday.
