About the job :
To provide a safe environment whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times. To ensure that customers are extended a welcome to the station, kept well informed and that all areas are kept clean and well presented.
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Ensure your personal safety and that of others, including that of visitors and contractors, at all times
2. Comply with the Rules as defined in Network Rail Group Standard, South Western Railway Employee Handbook, other regulations and Instructions, Group Standards and Legislation, undertaking periodic re-examination of competency.
3. Provide a safe, courteous and helpful service at all times.
4. Provide a safe, clean and well presented customer environment, ensuring that the tasks detailed in the cleaning schedules are maintained.
5. Undertake emergency procedures and implement evacuation procedures when required.
6. Carry out duties as directed by Duty Station Manager and/or Station Supervisor.
7. Ensure the safe and punctual dispatch of trains and ensure that performance records are maintained. Identify and report to your Duty Station Manager incidents of delays to services.
8. Wear uniform (including name badge) and safety clothing as supplied, ensuring that your standard of appearance complies with the company standard and is high at all times.
9. Maintain security of the station premises during your booked time of attendance.
10. Have an understanding of ticket & restrictions relevant to your location and line of route.
11. Carry out Winter Precautions as per Local Instructions.
12. Additional tasks as specified by the local manager and Station Supervisor applicable to the role.

About the location:
Clapham Junction opened in 1863 and is one of SWR's busiest stations with 17 Platforms. It is a vital transport hub that links London with several destinations across the South, including Reading, Windsor, Staines, Southampton & Bournemouth. With plenty of places to stop and grab a bite to eat and a drink, you can be sure that you will be comfortable for your journey ahead.
Working pattern:
On average, you will be working 29.36 hours across a 4 day week.
As this is Rest Day Relief, you may be required to work a variety of shifts.
Typical shift pattern:
Alternating between a week of early turns 0700 to 1424 and late turns 1420 to 2144.
Additional Information:
This role is a safety critical position and you will need to pass relevant assessments and a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol screen prior to employment. You must live with 60 minutes of the job location.
