Introduction:
An opportunity has become available to join Boeing Defence UK as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This position is part of the on-site UK C-17 Field Services Team supporting the Royal Air Force (RAF) customer at RAF Brize Norton.
Working as part of the Boeing MRP 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), you will perform maintenance activities, fault diagnosis, and disturbed system functional tests. You will work with peers to perform aircraft safe handling and maintenance tasks, ensuring established process adherence, accurate and timely work recording, and contractual/regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
* Assemble, disassemble, and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components.
* Complete assembly, disassembly, or overhaul.
* Configure aerospace vehicles and test equipment.
* Troubleshoot complex aircraft systems to isolate faults and repair faulty components.
* Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components.
* Document procedures and established processes for compliance.
* Inspect components and verify repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
Required Qualifications:
* Recognised relevant aircraft trade apprenticeship or equivalent training.
* Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, workbook instructions, and technical manuals.
* Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
* High level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working with limited supervision.
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Additional Qualifications:
* Experience in an AMO or civilian Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) is beneficial.
* Prior C-17 experience is beneficial but not essential.
Shift Work: This role requires working in shifts, currently on a weekly rotating basis. Week 1: Monday to Friday 07:45 - 16:30; Week 2: Monday to Thursday 16:00 - 01:45. A shift allowance is provided.
Work Authorisation: This position does not have sponsorship approval. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work in the UK.
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance, requiring UK Citizenship.
Relocation: No relocation available; candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
