Our Milton Keynes (finished goods) warehouse is responsible for providing customers and consumers with a first class delivery service with flexibility for change and demand. We are undergoing a period of change in our structure resulting in the creation of this role. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys driving change and improvement, and loves problem solving and building teams.
The role of the Senior Team Leader is to support the Warehousing Manager UK&I in driving efficiencies, productivity and performance across the warehouse. You will manage and work closely with Team Leaders to maximise warehouse capacity through continual process improvement. The role acts as a communication conduit between the warehouse teams, including Warehouse Admin, to further drive productivity and performance.
This is a newly created role reporting to the Warehousing Manager UK&I and with line manager responsibility of two Team Leaders who work alternating day/late shifts. This role is full time based on a 37 hour week Monday to Friday, working varied shifts/hours between 6am and 10pm.
What you'll do:
* Support the Warehousing Manager in creating and implementing efficiency measures and meeting targets across the warehouse
* Provide day to day coaching, management and leadership for the Team Leaders, enabling them to focus on effectively leading their teams and shifts and continuously improving performance
* Support and deputise for the Warehousing Manager where required
* Work with the Team Leaders to define the full capacities across the warehouse, planning the review and implementation of warehouse processes (SOPs) and procedures with them
* Ensure alignment of Team Leaders to deliver excellent communication and cohesive running of all shifts, including clear handovers, balanced cover and appropriate mix of skills across shifts and sections
* Support the Team Leaders in creating, implementing and managing a skills and training matrix for their teams, enabling succession planning and talent management
* Ensure Team Leaders are carrying out day to day performance management of their teams, including attendance management and company disciplinary procedures, with support from HR where required
* Prioritise safety by addressing any concerns promptly and appropriately, either directly with Team Leaders, the Warehousing Manager or EHS and Quality Manager
* Build strong and effective working relationships with all major stakeholders, both within Logistics and elsewhere in the business, demonstrating professionalism and commercial pragmatism at all times
Qualifications:
* Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and hands-on people management experience
* Supervisory experience (could be warehousing, logistics or manufacturing)
* MS Microsoft knowledge essential
* Understanding of Company policies and procedures, including Disciplinary, Grievance and Sickness Absence policies
* Knowledge of HSE procedures
* Proven CI experience and qualification
* Counterbalance and VNA Licence desired
* Fluent in English
