We are recruiting an Underwriting assistant to form a key part of Chubb's High Net Worth Underwriting Team in London. You will be responsible to underwrite new and existing business accounts on our Continental European Book whilst providing world class service to our broker partners. This is an entry level underwriting role and previous underwriting experience is not required however some experience in multiline Household and Motor insurance is desirable. The role will also require to build and maintain strong working relationships both externally and internally. Your Responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: Transactional: Responsible for underwriting renewal business up to your agreed authority limits as well a lower level appraisals. Responsible for assisting the Underwriting team with MP24 referrals for New Business. Actively seek to round out existing accounts and cross-sell other classes of business. Managing underwriting queries via telephone & e-mail Liaise with different departments (Claims, marketing, IT,…) to troubleshoot a wide variety of queries. Broker Management: Demonstrate a good level of proficiency in the use of the management information systems to be able to understand the data, analyse any trends and report on the underwriting performance Proactively manage relationships with broker partners. Sales Disciplines: Collaborate with the underwriter in the conversion of New Business, through pre-qualification of target prospects Assist in a wider variety of tasks as part of a project team to launch new products across the region. Work with the Underwriter and Account Manager to ensure all target quotes are monitored and pursued to ensure conversion rates influenced positively Ensure all communications with broker partners are collaborative and sales focused to ensure both retention & new business opportunities are maximised Qualifications What skills & experience are required? HNW insurance industry experience is desirable – preferably from a Motor or Household background. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally. Strong communication and negotiation skills Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload. What can you expect in return?
