What you’ll be doing:
* Contribute to the development of engineering Processes by supporting the identification, creation, and communication of processes that assist with the engineering lifecycle.
* Assist in understanding how engineering Processes impact other areas of the business and help explain the importance of Governance within the engineering function.
* Support independent Assurance activities to ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the correct tools and documentation, and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority.
* Help support the preparation of estimates for scope, work, and resources to assist in bids, proposals, and project planning related to Processes, Governance, and Assurance.
* Contribute to documenting knowledge of Process, Governance, and Assurance, and assist in sharing this information with colleagues to help grow the team's expertise.
* Offer support to more senior engineers and assist with managing activities to ensure smooth planning and execution of engineering tasks that relate to Process, Governance & Assurance.
Your skills and experiences:
* Degree-level qualification within a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
* Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices and the correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product of an academic basis underpinning the discipline.
* Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle with experience operating in the phase relevant to the role and awareness of the entire engineering lifecycle.
* A technical understanding of how your work in the Process, Governance, and Assurance role contributes to the overall product, platform, or programme.
The Platform Complex Systems (PCS) team:
The PCS team is tasked with defining, implementing, and managing original ways of working within a multi-disciplined environment to deliver complex, software-intensive systems for the BAE Systems Submarines, Dreadnought Programme. Your role will be to undertake Process, Governance, and Assurance (PG&A) initiatives to enable the effective and efficient delivery of the engineering products for PCS throughout the engineering lifecycle.
