This role is a regional role in the South West so we would be open to applications from candidates who live in or are commutable from some of the following areas: Bridgwater, Frome, Yeovil, Taunton, Tiverton, Honiton, Ilminster, Ilchester, Minehead, Glastonbury, Street, Burnham-on-Sea, Chard, Wellington, Wells, Frome or the surrounding areas.

The role requires adaptability; it is Monday to Friday with overtime available to meet our site’s needs, and there may be times when you are away overnight, for which the company accommodates.
A company vehicle is provided for this role, and we request that you have a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
Role Responsibility
As our Mobile Maintenance Fitter (Silo), you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs, and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in aspects of plant operation.
Your responsibilities will include (not exhaustive):
* Respond to plant breakdowns and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment, keeping downtime to a minimum while adhering to the maintenance plan and complying with all relevant statutory legislation and internal company Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.
* Fault find control panels on mobile silos and be fully conversant with inverters, parameters, and level indicators.
* PAT testing portable appliances and demonstrating competences in fault diagnosis.
* Ensure that mobile silos are supplied to customers in a safe and fit-for-purpose working condition.
* Continue to improve plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance, and asset reliability.
* Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
* Ensure that van stock levels are maintained.
* Utilize documents and maintain policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.
The Ideal Candidate
The role of Mobile Maintenance Fitter (Silo) is varied, complex, and rewarding and requires:
* Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, highly beneficial but not essential as QBE (Qualified by Experience) is essential.
* Knowledge of maintenance practices – electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and welding.
* Experience working with gearboxes, motors, and pumps; understanding of LOTOTO (Isolation of Plant and Equipment).
* Experience with TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement.
* Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience in a relevant heavy engineering industry.
* Knowledge in the area of predictive maintenance.
* Experience working with a Computer Maintenance Management System.
* Experience with root cause analysis, failure mode, and effect analysis tools/techniques.
* Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and knowledge of national and international codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
* Ability to learn health and safety rules applicable to each department regarding their own and other operators’ safety.
