SEN Teaching Assistant | Richmond Upon Thames, KT2 | Payscale - £95-£105 | ASAP Start | Full-Time, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
LTF Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to help meet the educational and developmental needs of primary school students with complex learning and behavioural challenges. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide personalised support, ensuring each child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and socially.
Daily responsibilities:
- Provide individualised one-on-one and group support to students with complex needs, creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Collaborate with class teachers to adapt lessons and activities, ensuring they are accessible for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Support the development of students' social, communication, and life skills.
- Monitor and document student progress, offering regular updates to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with complex needs in a primary school setting.
- Relevant qualifications in special education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare).
- Solid knowledge of different learning disabilities, physical impairments, and behavioural disorders.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
