My Client, on of the leading suppliers of Social Housing, Care Homes and Student accomodation in the UK are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting for their offices in Worcester.
The job sits within Group Financial Services which is responsible for all aspects of accounting for the Group. This includes the provision of financial and management accounting services, financial analysis, preparation of annual budgets, treasury, tax and VAT management.
The job holder will ensure that they fully understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect of both Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity at all times.
To manage an effective financial accounting, guidance and support service to drive better financial performance, implementing appropriate controls to enable the Group to achieve its business objectives and regulatory requirementsThis profile is not an exhaustive list of duties and other activities may need to be carried out requiring similar skill levels.
Manage the centralised Financial Reporting team to deliver high quality and cost effective services, including the preparation of accurate management and statutory accounts, to support the needs of the Group and enable them to perform at consistently high levels as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Ensure Senior Business Managers actively manage financial performance in order minimise risk and increase the success and operational efficiencies to deliver Group objectives.
Provide clear guidance, advice and support on financial management, to ensure compliance with Group policy, relevant legislation and good practice in order to deliver financial performance.
Review, implement and maintain financial control systems and policies to ensure compliance with required legislation and best practice and deliver financial performance.
Report and present information to Group Executive, Directors and other key stakeholders, to support decision making, business planning and compliance with financial standing orders.
Develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships, particularly with external auditors, tax advisors and investors, to ensure efficient service delivery, compliance with regulatory requirements and to attract the required capital and credit ratings.
Manage the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff to ensure required skilled staff are available to achieve performance improvements in line with key performance indicators and strategies.
Contribute, as appropriate, to special projects and change programmes in support of the Group's objectives.
Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification
ACCA, ACA or CIMA professional qualification
