Position: Full time - Permanent (35hr per week) Location: Gatwick / Hybrid Are you an experienced credit controller with excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with multiple accounts? At William Reed, we are looking for a Credit Controller who will be responsible for monitoring accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments and in advance of an event’s start date. Leveraging your strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will work closely with the Group Credit Manager to ensure payment queries are resolved and accounts are escalated when necessary. This role offers the opportunity to work on a large account ledger, improving cash flow for the business, as well as building and maintaining positive and long-term relationships with our customers. What you’ll be doing: Maintaining your own ledger of 750 accounts, proactively and reactively chasing these at an expected pace of around 60 accounts per day (via email & telephone); ensuring all payments are received in advance of the event start date. Resolving queries and negotiating with clients in line with William Reed’s credit policy, escalating to the Group Credit Manager where necessary. Liaising with internal sales teams and account managers when required, working together to build and maintain strong relationships and open communication with clients. Reporting any delinquent accounts to the Group Credit Manager that are trading outside of their contracted payment terms. Keeping up-to-date records on a day-to-day basis via reports on internal systems. Being responsive to cash targets and prioritising cash collections. What you’ll need: Previous experience of credit control. Good knowledge of finance accounting systems (Experience using SUN Systems is desirable but not essential). Excellent organisation skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once. Self-motivated and decisive with a proactive approach. Meticulous attention to detail. Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to navigate challenging conversations with a solution focused approach. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to ensure effective collaboration with both with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of the events industry or experience working with large-scale event clients is desirable, but not essential.
