We Are Recruiting For A HV Electrical Commissioning Assistant Salary: Dependent on qualifications and experience Job type: Full time and Permanent This exciting opportunity to join our team has been created because of our continued success and expansion within the marketplace, in particular the renewable energy industry. We are looking to recruit an HV Electrical Commissioning Assistant. You will use your previous electrical experience and knowledge to provide support and assistance to Commissioning Engineers with the testing and commissioning of Powersystems installations.The role will involve travel within the UK and the willingness to work flexibly out of your standard hours as and when required. This role provides a great opportunity for career progression. Duties and responsibilities of the role include: Working closely with Commissioning Engineers to provide onsite assistance with commissioning activities including; point to point wiring verification, signal testing, fault finding and rectification Assist Commissioning Engineers with onsite, pre and post energisation commissioning of substation equipment including transformers, tap-changers, switchgear, and protection relays to ensure Powersystems projects are delivered to the highest standards Liaising with the commissioning engineer to produce and develop commissioning plans. Plan and carry out electrical testing and commissioning work in a safe manner, always adhering to health and safety procedures Assist the Commissioning Engineer with the production of commissioning reports, test documentation and update drawings to as built status Proactively look at ways to enhance the service offered by the business, and improve the efficiency of company processes Maintain a professional image at all times Embrace and demonstrate Powersystems 5 principles of: Priority No.1 – Health, Safety and Well-being, Professionalism, Pride, Partnership and Proactive Here’s what you need to be successful in the role: Experience of substation electrical installation works gained from electrical contracting or utility industries Qualified / working towards electrician status with NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds qualifications Understanding of electrical engineering documentation such as wiring schedules, block wiring diagrams, electrical schematics Enthusiasm to develop understanding of HV commissioning works including: - Protection Theory / Principles Protection relay Configuration Primary and Secondary Injection testing Techniques HV Cable fault location and pressure testing techniques Soil resistivity and earth resistance testing techniques Willingness to attend additional training to develop technical skills for progression to technician status Flexible and organised to manage workload to meet deadlines Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work proactively as part of a team Full UK driving licence Right to Work within the UK without limitation Must be available to travel on work related business throughout the UK with overnight stays Desirable criteria: Open to change, resilient and proactive In return we offer: Highly competitive salary dependant on experience and qualifications Contributory company pension scheme Private health insurance Life insurance Employee assistance programme 25 days annual holiday plus paid public holidays Benefit from company profit share as a partner in our business Great training and development opportunities Holiday purchase scheme Cycle to work scheme On-site gym Bristol office - Free parking, onsite parking, and electrical vehicle charge points Powersystems UK is an Employee-Owned business and has a keen interest in the wellbeing and success of all its employees.
