Trading Standards Manager
Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.
The postholder will be responsible for: the effective management of the Trading Standards, Animal Health and Feed team ensuring the delivery of professional regulatory advice, guidance and enforcement of a range of legislation with respect to Trading Standards, Animal Health and Feed including fair trading, civil advice, metrology, product safety, doorstep crime, age restricted sales, intellectual property, tobacco control, Animal Health and Welfare, Animal Welfare Licensing and Feed.
The post holder will discharge the Council’s Statutory post obligations and act as Lead Feed Officer in accordance with the statutory guidance, the Food Standards Agency Code of Practice and Practice Guidance.
The post holder will carry out complex investigations within the framework of the specific legislation including investigation of offences, inspections and advisory visits, promotional activities, issue legal notices and prepare prosecution files and take legal action where appropriate.
The postholder will keep up to date with knowledge and awareness of guidance issued by relevant bodies, agencies or government departments following best practice and developments in all relevant areas while identifying and implementing revised working practices and policies to maintain professional standards.
This post involves working with children/adults and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at an enhanced level.
