Job summary We are excited to be advertising this role in our Neurodevelopmental team. The post holder will hold a neurodevelopmental conditions caseload and will support the team in the delivery of the highly specialised neurodevelopmental assessments and interventions for children and young people presenting with neurodevelopmental difficulties and complex needs. They will be working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues (Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Paediatricians) in the ND-SCAMHS service. The post sits alongside other psychologist roles as part of the Gwent Child and Family Psychology service, which is a large and vibrant team with many opportunities for learning and sharing good practice. There is the option of extra temporary hours to make up this post up to 1 wte for one year to cover maternity leave to work with children with additional needs. Main duties of the job The role will involve, but is not restricted to, the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including comprehensive developmental histories through clinical interview with children and young people, their parents/carers and others involved in the children and young people's care (including professionals from other agencies), structured observational assessments including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - second edition (ADOS-2) as indicated, psychological and neuropsychological assessments and use of various evidence based tools and measures. The role will also offer therapeutic interventions for the full range of referred difficulties accepted by the ND-SCAMHS service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
