On behalf of our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on providing effective therapeutic solutions for unmet medical needs through differentiated and innovative medicines in Oncology, Neurosciences, and Rare Diseases, we are currently recruiting a Director of Manufacturing in Wales.
This role ensures the quality of products, compliance with cGMP regulations, and the development of manufacturing systems and processes. You will recruit, lead, manage, and develop a team, ensuring they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and motivation to perform their roles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with cGMP standards and regulatory requirements for manufacturing operations.
* Establish and maintain manufacturing objectives and KPIs, demonstrating continuous improvement.
* Oversee production requirements across all site manufacturing facilities, ensuring efficient operations.
* Promote best practices and operational excellence through continuous improvement practices.
* Develop and maintain effective training programs for manufacturing staff.
* Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Enhance company’s reputation with external partners, authorities, and the public.
* Develop and implement a strategic manufacturing plan for the site.
* Manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective activities.
* Support the site masterplan, including future demand requirements and capacity delivery.
* Represent the company in internal and external forums, benchmarking performance.
Skills required:
* Valid EU/UK Passport.
* Pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years experience in aseptic processing and freeze drying.
* Proven experience managing and leading a large team, with at least 2 levels of reports.
* Preferably experienced in Lean or Six Sigma tools and techniques.
* Demonstrated ability to transform organizations and ways of working.
* Degree level or equivalent, preferably in a science-based subject.
* Formal management qualification and business improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma) are desirable.
* Excellent communication skills.

Pay: From £110,000.00 per year
