Job overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join CNTW Eating Disorder Team and work across the provider Collaborative. The Provider Collaborative for Adult Eating Disorders covers North East and North Cumbria, including Inpatient units and Intensive Day Services in CNTW and TEWV.
MEED guidelines were published in 2022 by RCPsych, the first definitive guideline for assessment and management of patients presenting with medical risk due to eating disorders. Implementation of these recommendations has been dependent on local interest and resources and is therefore inconsistent across the North East and North Cumbria. This is the first dedicated role to be funded for this purpose in this region.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be competent in the assessment and management of patients with eating disorders, including:
* Medical and psychiatric risk assessment
* Care planning and coordination
* Medical, psychological, and nutritional interventions, including NG feeding and supported eating
The post holder will have experience of teaching and training, quality improvement, and service development. The post holder must be able to work both autonomously and collaboratively with a wide range of services and professionals. Therefore, excellent communication and organisational skills will be required.
Key working relationships
1. Multidisciplinary teams with the adult eating disorder services in CNTW and TEWV, particularly working with medics/psychiatrists, dietitians, and care coordinators
2. Medical, nursing, and dietetic staff on medical wards within acute trusts in the North East and North Cumbria
3. Psychiatric Liaison Teams working into medical wards
Working for our organisation
We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented, and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return, we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
