About the Team
The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) has been operational since March 2016 and has quickly established itself as a world-leader in financial sanctions, a key area of foreign and national security policy.
OFSI is the UK’s Competent Authority for financial sanctions. It leads on the implementation of UN and UK financial sanctions and domestic terrorist asset freezing, providing a high-quality service to the private and third sector, and guidance to help them follow the law.
We work closely with law enforcement, intelligence agencies and strategic policy colleagues across Government to help ensure that financial sanctions are accurately understood, implemented and enforced.

About the Job
In this role, you will:
1. Be the subject matter expert for OFSI, working closely with the HMT Security team, providing independent advice on operational security management, to senior managers in relation to officers, assets, and personal security issues.
2. Identify, assess, and maintain an overview of, and mitigate current, and emerging risks/ threats and their impact on existing security practices.
3. Provide novel and new advice and recommendations to the senior leadership team to sensitive security threats, to support the timely strategic response of senior managers.
4. Advise and support OFSI officers in the planning and delivery of investigations using covert tactics with an emphasis upon risk assessment and risk management.
5. Create and monitor standards regarding efficiency and effectiveness of security processes across the organisation and make recommendations for continual improvement.
6. Take a lead role on the most severe threats and commission risk assessments in the local environment, extracting insights to provide an informed opinion on Operational Security risks and the adequacy of controls in place.

About You
The successful candidate will have the ability to work autonomously and drive the security agenda for OFSI, ensuring it is understood and implemented at all levels of the organisation. You will provide practical recommendations to operational problems and possess the necessary interpersonal skills to influence internal and external partners at all levels of seniority. You’ll be able to identify, analyse and manage risk to inform balanced, proportionate, evidence-based decisions.
