Main duties of the job
The Band 7 Occupational Therapist's role is to be responsible for planning, organising and implementing specialist Occupational Therapy rehabilitation to service personnel with complex clinical needs within The Force Generation Service. The postholder will have a specific focus on supporting personnel to either return to work within the military or transition into the civilian workforce. The postholder will work autonomously, without direct supervision and be accountable for own professional actions and of those staff who they line manage. To also provide full support to the Team Manager and Occupational Therapy Professional Lead Advisor in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive, evidence-based and professional Occupational Therapy service within the clinical area.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* To assess complex patients with a range of diagnoses, identifying, developing and implementing appropriate specialist rehabilitation programmes based on clear clinical reasoning, highly specialist knowledge and experience of a range of procedures and conditions underpinned by sound theory and evidence-based practice.
* To ensure that a high standard of recording, filing and storage of patient and statistical information is maintained in accordance with The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), local policies and guidelines.
* To be responsible for prioritising, organising and planning own and team's clinical workload making short term adjustments to plans on a daily basis as required.
* To identify the resources required for effective service delivery within the clinical area and assist Line Manager and Occupational Therapy Professional Lead Advisor in business planning and budgeting for this service.
* To attend service development meetings both internally and externally as required.

* Health and Care Professions Council Registered (HCPC)
* Registration with the British Association of Occupational Therapists
Qualifications
* Degree plus additional specialist training or experience to Masters level or equivalent.
* Please provide your membership registration number.
* You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.
* Your application will not progress should you fail to provide a valid membership registration number.
