The Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a true end-to-end business as part of Wärtsilä Portfolio Businesses. WAW is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. WAW has the industry’s broadest product offering to secure beyond compliant operations for our marine customers.
We have now a unique and exciting opportunity for a Parts Identification Coordinator for the Water and Waste Water Systems business, based in UK, Poole, Dorset.
As the Parts Identification Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the allocated parts identification workflow, ensuring timely support for the Parts Coordination and Purchasing teams in buying and selling spare parts.
What will you be doing?
1. Actively communicating with stakeholders on workflow activity.
2. Actively contribute to obsolescence management. Where necessary, seek to find alternative parts and follow the relevant process for product owner approval.
3. Use product knowledge and spares business experience to mentor team members and enhance their own learning.
4. Proactively feedback product issues and ideas for product improvement to the Technology team and Engineering department.
5. Use complex problem-solving skills and through robust and clear thought processes with input from the Product Owner when required.
6. Suggest new ways of working and/or processes to the relevant people and assist in implementation. This includes the use & development of data management tools and software including but not limited to SAP / Vault & Item Master.
7. Actively take responsibility for self-development on developing product understanding to achieve a greater wealth of experience and knowledge across all Water & Waste products.
8. Take ownership of self-development outside of the Water & Waste product portfolio to include such areas as environmental legislation and class society information to enhance overall industry understanding.
