Due to recent changes within the Revenues & Benefits service, we are excited to be offering an opportunity for a permanent full-time role within the Debt Recovery team.
As a Case Management Officer within the Debt Recovery team, you would play a key role in our service, ensuring the prompt and efficient billing, collection and recovery of Council Tax and Business Rates on behalf of our client councils.
The successful candidate would be part of a team whose main focus is maximising collection of both Council Tax and Business Rates whilst supporting our customers who may need additional advice and guidance to resolve their outstanding debts and maximise their income.
Typical duties include:
Accurate and timely updating of customer records.
Dealing with customers by phone, and in writing to provide advice, explanations and clarification of decisions and actions.
Negotiate payment arrangements to maximise recovery and minimise ongoing, escalating debt.
Provide support to individuals to seek appropriate advice and guidance where a possible vulnerability is recognised.
The successful candidate will have:
Previous customer service experience
GCSE level C/4 or above in English and Maths
Awareness of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit / Council Tax Support
