We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our patient-focused and progressive Pharmacy Team at Singleton Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the pharmacy service to Dermatology, and will be expected to work within a pharmacist-led clinic setting.
The post holder will provide the required clinical pharmacy and prescribing support to help manage dermatology patients, initially focussing on those treated with biologics and JAK inhibitors through both homecare, Singleton and Neath Port Talbot hospitals.
Main duties of the job
Working alongside clinical colleagues you will be integrated into the multidisciplinary team to support all the pharmaceutical needs of Dermatology. Having the Independent Prescribing qualification is therefore desirable for this post to promote cost effective prescribing, manage biosimilar switches within the specialty and facilitate homecare prescriptions.
The post-holder would also participate in Clinical Pharmacy ward cover & dispensary duties in our automated dispensary.
Supervision, mentoring and training of junior colleagues will also be a major component of the job.
In addition, the role will require the ongoing completion of core directorate activities including analysis of medicines expenditure, clinical governance audits, service improvement projects and risk management.
Specific dermatology experience is not essential but your experience will have been gained working in a patient focussed environment using your knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines, including experience of undertaking research and/or audit.

* Post Graduate MSc/ Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
* Member of the GPhC
