Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that all financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously monitored and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
2. Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial plans.
3. Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
4. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate cost forecasting and control.
5. Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
6. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
7. Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes as necessary.
8. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
1. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
2. Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry is highly desirable.
3. Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices.
4. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
5. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making is essential.
