Are you an experienced payroll professional with hands-on iTrent expertise looking to take the next step in your career? Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life, is looking for a Deputy Payroll Manager to join our People Services team.
About the Role
As the Deputy Payroll Manager, you will be instrumental in leading the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused, and accurate payroll service. Reporting to the Admin & Payroll Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
* Acting as the first point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing expert payroll advice and iTrent system support.
* Leading on payroll reconciliations, reporting, and pension administration.
* Producing payroll-related management information using Business Objects.
* Supporting and developing the payroll team to deliver excellent service and meet performance targets.
* Driving process improvement and system optimisation – iTrent experience is essential to this role.
* Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and audit requirements.
* Supporting the Pensions Governance Committee and managing overpayment recovery procedures.
About You
We are seeking a confident and capable payroll leader who can hit the ground running. To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Significant hands-on experience using the iTrent payroll system.
* In-depth knowledge of PAYE legislation, HMRC requirements, and payroll compliance.
* A track record of managing end-to-end payroll in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, ideally within a shared service model.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to interpret and analyse complex payroll data and produce technical reports.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and payroll reporting.
* A CIPP qualification or working towards one (desirable).
