About the role
The Customer Experience Team is a dynamic service dedicated to ensuring Council services are of a high quality and are accessible to all residents.
As part of this dedicated team and working closely with the Poverty Reduction Lead, your role will be crucial in advancing the organisation's commitments to social justice, reducing inequalities, and supporting residents with the cost of living.
In this new role, you will:
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of targeted, hyper-local communication campaigns across Mid Suffolk to enhance the financial resilience of our communities.
* Have the opportunity to trial innovative tools that provide fresh insights into the financial wellbeing of residents.
* Leverage these insights, along with an understanding of behavioural science, to shape engagement strategies across various channels, evaluate their success, and establish best practices for the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence poverty reduction initiatives across Mid Suffolk, empowering vulnerable residents by providing the information they need, when they need it.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Communications and Engagement Officer, with a proven record of delivering data-driven communications and marketing campaigns, evaluating their impact using evidence-based methods to determine clear and measurable outcomes.
You will be able to demonstrate:
* The ability to create clear and engaging content that drives behavioural change, which is crucial to this role, as well as proficiency in designing a range of promotional material in line with campaign briefs and brand guidelines to reach a broad range of demographics, including hard-to-reach cohorts.
* Confidence using a broad range of communication skills, both internally and externally, and across a variety of platforms including digital and traditional media.
* Passion and energy and will thrive in collaborative environments, working with various teams and external stakeholders to align priorities and design campaigns using a place-based approach.
* An ability to galvanise momentum around issues and work creatively to see projects through to completion, which will be essential in delivering impactful campaigns for our residents.
About us
Working together across our councils and with our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, we provide excellent services to our 190,000 residents across Babergh and Mid Suffolk.
We are proud of the role we play in creating the environment, economy, and communities for our districts. We believe that the heart of Suffolk is an incredibly special place to live and work. With picturesque market towns, 60 conservation areas and with two National Landscapes within our districts, it is little wonder that we are consistently within the top 50 places to live in the UK.

* Generous leave entitlement (equivalent to 26 days a year, increasing to 31 days after 5 years' service, plus bank holidays).
* Competitive Local Government Pension Scheme.
* Wellbeing Support Programme.
* Employee Assist Programme.
* Health Care Options.
