Production Planner - Chepstow - Manufacturing - up to £44000 - Global Sustainability
Yolk Recruitment are working with a Leading Manufacturer helping them to find a Production Planner. The Company are helping to lead the way in shaping the future of sustainability.
The production planner role is a central role within the organisation. You will play a critical role in managing the planning process to achieve optimal production schedules while ensuring efficient supply chain management.
You will need to have a background in supply chain, excellent analytical skills and the ability to constantly adjust plans based on the latest information available. You should also proactively anticipate any potential issues and changes in plan and adjust your plan to improve outcomes, always thinking ahead and anticipating possible failures and providing alternative scenarios.
Key Tasks:
1. Develop and manage production plans for the paper machine and finishing departments, maximising OTIF performance.
2. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules.
3. Identify potential risks in production and develop proactive solutions.
4. Raise internal orders for trial production.
5. Manage inventory levels to ensure timely usage of SFG & FG (liaising with quality department and finishing supervisor).
6. Manage the packaging specification, coordinating between finishing manager and CSR.
7. Maintain planning master data within the required systems.
8. Prepare and monitor planning KPIs (otif, plan adherence, downtime, stock levels…).
9. Prepare and present planning meetings.
10. Coordinate with engineering, quality, material management and logistics to ensure smooth production processes.
11. Liaise with sales and customer service teams to resolve supply issues.
12. Work with finishing supervisor to improve consumable material planning.
Education/Experience
1. Previous experience in a production planning role, a scheduling role or in supply chain.
2. Preferred experience working in a manufacturing environment.
3. Experience with a scheduling program.
4. Preferred experience with an ERP such as SAP or any other equivalent.
5. Strong experience with Excel and analytics skills.
