Technicians/Lead Technicians – Non-destructive and destructive testing

The company specialising in structural investigations, inspections, testing, and asset management services is seeking dynamic, site-based Technicians and Lead Technicians to join their expanding team.
With a strong pipeline of diverse projects, no two weeks will be the same. You will play a key role within a growing team, contributing to a wide range of exciting projects, including residential, commercial, healthcare, and educational projects. There could also be cross-over with other areas of the wider group meaning you will be exposed to different sectors such as Rail & Highways.
This is an opportunity for you to work on iconic and historical structures with cutting-edge equipment and software, applying your technical expertise to conduct bespoke survey work and consult with clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct site-based surveys, sampling building materials, and measuring structural elements.
2. Collect accurate data and communicate effectively with team members and third parties.
3. Ensure health and safety compliance across all site activities.
4. Work on a variety of projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, healthcare, and educational buildings.
5. Gain exposure to other sectors, including Rail & Highways, broadening your expertise.
6. Utilise the latest equipment and software to carry out bespoke survey work and client consultation.
Location
Candidates must be a commutable distance from their Chesterfield and Ilkeston offices. Clients/projects are based Nationwide. This role will require working away from home throughout the week including occasional overnight stays.
Salary & Benefits
Up to £38,000 salary - dependent on the role and level of experience
Overtime available (1.25x – 2.0x, dependent on day/time)

25 days increasing to 30 days with service annual leave + bank holidays

Criteria to Interview
1. Solid understanding of building fabric/building surveying. (Essential)
2. Candidates must have site-based surveying experience within a construction/engineering environment. (Essential)
3. Qualifications based around Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or General Construction would be highly beneficial.
4. Full UK driving license & happy with nationwide travel. (Desirable)
5. Relevant site tickets e.g., CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, First Aider, IPAF/PASMA. (Desirable)
6. Numerical and literacy skills. (Essential)
7. Ability to work away from home during the week if required. (Essential)
