Childcare Practitioner- Level 2 + - Full Time- 8-5:30pm- £10.70 per hour

Duties:
11. To have individual responsibility for a varied age range of children between zero and eleven years, and at the same time e.g. three orfour children within the early years (ages zero to five) and a few children of primary school age (five to eleven years).Like Childminding.
12. The ability to work with children of varying levels of ability,from age to additional or special educational needs, with support from the setting's Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), staff team and outside agencies, as required.
13. To arrange activities and experiences for individual children in your care,around interests, abilitiesand the setting's seasonal themed approach.
14. To have high standards in maintaining a hygienically clean environment, from handwashing to cleaning tasks e.g. kitchen, highchairs, change tables and due care and attention to children's hygiene needs.
15. To assist children with personal care and hygiene e.g. washing hands, changing nappies and attending to toileting needs.
16. To share in cleaning/tidying duties together with the team daily.
17. To take part in school delivery and collection to and from Halling Primary or Valley Invicta Primary at Holborough Lakes, if/when required.
18. To have the ability to work alone and manage your own work load with confidence and competence i.e. your key-children and all areas of the EYFS for example, but also be able to work together as part of a friendly supportive team that keep one another updated and informed e.g. about individual children cared for, plans etc.
19. To attend monthlyteam briefings/meetingsand occasional training, outside working hours.
20. To attend any events the setting may hold in the evenings or weekends over the course of the academic year e.g. open days/evenings for prospective families, celebrations, parent information events.
21. To be understanding of the rules and boundaries within the setting and to keep to them when considering children, ensuring continuity of care. A firm but fair approachto be taken when supporting children displaying negative behaviour, enabling them to learn what is expected of them, helping them to feel secure.
22. The formation of positive working relationships with parents is essential in providing continuity of care for children, maintaining high levels of professionalism alwaysand remembering to be friendly, but not friends.Candidate's must be confident to liaise with parents about their children.
23. To maintain the confidentiality of all staff, childrenand settingand adhere to the requirements of the Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
24. A full and relevant Level 2/3 in childcare
25. An enhanced DBS
26. To understand the need to safeguard children and protect them from harm.
27. To enjoy being outdoors -we are a very outdoor focussed setting and have access to woodland that we use to extend play and learning in this wonderful space.
28. To be a good communicator (excellent communication skills are essential), understanding the need liaise with the team accordingly throughout the day.
29. The confidence and ability to build positive relationships with families independently, especially key-children's, as well as with the staff team.
