Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for Investigators to support with dangerous dogs’ investigations for a police force in the midlands.
Start date - January 2025
Contract length - 6 months
Location - Wednesbury Police Station or Dog training centre, Balsall Common
Banding - £17.57 per hour
Hours - full time
Purpose of the Post
The role is to support our dangerous dog unit, which has seen an increase in demand owing to the XL bully legislation. The role will include managing incidents where someone has sustained an injury from a dog as well as creating court files in relation to banned breeds.
This can be an emotive job and does sometimes involve authorising dogs to be put to sleep.
The successful candidate can work from Wednesbury or Balsall Common, but it is not an agile role.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Interviewing suspects and witnesses
2. Taking witness statements
3. Creating case files for court
Person Specification
1. PIP1 or PIP2 qualified investigator
2. Dangerous dog experience would be desirable
You will need to hold or undergo police vetting in order to undertake this role.
