* Manage legal, reputational, and financial aspects of rural properties, including rent reviews, repairing obligations, landlord consents, and land management contracts. You’ll also advise on agricultural matters, negotiate leases, licences, wayleaves, and easements, and support agri-environment work.

* Appraise, negotiate, and conclude acquisitions to establish or expand property reserves. This includes the purchase or lease of land, buildings, and other relevant assets.
Land and Property Disposal:
* Advise on the disposal of surplus properties, from land to offices and residential buildings, ensuring effective asset management.
Risk Management and Project Support:
* Assist in the development of systems to manage legal and financial risks. Conduct internal audits for compliance with relevant schemes and provide support to project managers and area teams in their land management activities.
Team Collaboration:
* Be an active participant in a highly collaborative team, sharing knowledge and expertise while working closely with building surveyors and area managers. You'll also provide on-the-ground professional advice, identifying opportunities to optimise financial outcomes for the business.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Chartered member of RICS (Rural) or equivalent professional body.
* Proven expertise in estate management, land acquisition, and disposal within rural environments.
* In-depth understanding of agricultural subsidy schemes and cross-compliance requirements.
* Strong knowledge of project management principles.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
* Ability to make well-informed decisions and recommend practical solutions.
* Skilled in negotiation to achieve desired outcomes.
* Awareness of charity sector regulations (training can be provided).
* Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Flexibility to travel as required, with occasional overnight stays.
Why Join?
In this role, you’ll benefit from the autonomy of a flexible, home-based working environment while making an impact on key land and property management decisions. You'll be supported in maintaining your RICS qualification with ongoing professional development opportunities, including both internal and external training.
