Job Description Provide a professional social work service to adults in Aberdeenshire, by undertaking a full range of social work duties and working collaboratively with clients who have complex needs to formulate support plans that maximise abilities, enable individuals to make choices and to work towards their identified goals, whilst identifying and minimising vulnerability and risks. Work in partnership with families and carers, relevant professionals, other agencies and the wider community whilst adhering to all applicable legislation and Aberdeenshire Council policies and procedures, including both statutory and non-statutory requirements Should there be interest in full time, this post is being advertised flexibly, along with a vacancy of Social Worker, Central Community Mental Health Team – ABS41944. This allows the possibility of merging the posts together to create a full time opportunity of 36.25 hours per week. This would involve working across 2 teams / localities with an office base in Central Aberdeenshire and an office base in South Aberdeenshire. Set days would be negotiated for cover to each team. This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
