The Role This is a nine-month maternity cover position, with possibility of extension, and would be based at our Warehouse in Marchington. You will provide leadership and support to our existing team in order to drive operational performance, continuous improvement initiatives, people development, and health and safety best practice. This is a critical role that requires a strong people leader who is highly operational, hands-on and has experience managing warehouse teams and complex process. Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day warehouse and engineering processes; Lead, mentor and motivate the team to achieve maximum productivity and engagement whilst gaining buy-in to change; Ensure adherence to all health and safety policies, working closely with the QHSE Manager to imbed these practices; Define and implement continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency and increased productivity for the team; Own workforce planning and budgeting to ensure that the warehouse organization is optimally staffed at all times; Identify areas of risk (reputational, commercial, environmental, quality and safety) and opportunity that may affect the business and steer the situation to the most advantageous, cost-effective and practical solution; Oversee the management of physical stock levels and recommend appropriate continuous improvement methods to maximise warehouse layout; Assist Head of Procurement to strengthen local and national supply chain and procure parts when required; Assist in bedding-in the ERP system ensuring warehouse process is align to system process; Accurately forecast workflow costs in line with the departmental budget and provide timely reporting; Feedback frequently to the Directors on performance, efficiencies, goals and challenges; Work in close collaboration with central operations at HQ to implement best practices and regular project updates. Qualifications Essential Experience and Qualifications Significant experience in a Warehouse Manager role, or similar, within a fast-paced and dynamic business; Demonstrable experience of the successful implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within a warehouse environment; Significant team leadership experience within a multi-faceted workforce; Working experience of quality and health and safety management in different operational environments; Budgetary management experience; Qualified to IOSH Managing Safely standard; Working knowledge of data analytics and reporting; Familiarity with business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT; A continuous improvement qualification (Lean, Kaizen or similar) is considered desirable but not essential.
