Senior Apprenticeship Trainer & Skills Coach – Golf and Sports Turf Based

Are you passionate about developing future leaders in Green Keeping and Sports Turf Management? Oaklands College is seeking an experienced Senior Apprenticeship Trainer & Skills Coach to join our Apprenticeships and Work-Based Learning team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the professional growth of apprentices and Adult Learners, helping them build the skills, knowledge, and behaviours they need to excel in their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality training and coaching in Land Based Apprenticeships and Work Based Learning Qualifications including Golf Greenkeeper, Advanced Sports Turf Operative and Golf Course Manager, through various methods, including face-to-face and online.
2. Provide tailored learning and engaging workshops to meet apprentices’ individual needs and prepare them for end-point assessments.
3. Conduct regular progress reviews with apprentices and employers, setting targets and ensuring timely completion.
4. Collaborate with employers to create a supportive learning environment, enhance workplace training, and maintain strong relationships.
5. Ensure quality assurance and compliance with college and regulatory standards, including participation in audits and inspections.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Holds at least a Level 3 Land Based Qualification.
2. Proven experience in training and coaching within an apprenticeship or educational setting.
3. Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, assessment requirements, and end-point assessments.
4. Exceptional organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Relevant teaching or assessor qualifications (e.g., PTLLS, A1 Assessor Award, TAQA) and experience with e-portfolio systems are desirable.
