The London Commercial Hub is hosted by NEL ICB and provides a high-quality Procurement and Contracting service to other London ICBs and NHS England. Our experienced team offers support at all stages of the procurement and contracting process, including:
1. Market analysis and development - benchmarking; developing and implementing strategies to stimulate the provider market.
2. Healthcare procurement - strategic procurement advice and delivery, compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, implementation of customer commissioning strategies through appropriate market interventions.
3. eProcurement service which supports the purchase and sale of supplies, equipment, works, and services - the technology is designed to centralise and automate interactions between an organisation, customers, and other value chain partners to improve speed and efficiency of procurement practices.
4. Contract negotiation - negotiation strategies, supporting the negotiation process and contract documentation design.
The Commercial Projects Manager will support the NHS London Commercial Hub Director/Associate Director by providing confidential, professional business management and full administrative support, facilitating effective and efficient internal operations and customer services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to deliver a varied portfolio of work, operating flexibly both internally and externally with the business as required. They will support the NHS Commercial Hub Director/Associate Director in the first instance but will also be required to deliver programmes in support of other members of the wider Hub team as and when required, providing a flexible management resource to the team to address issues as they arise.
The post holder will need to be able to move comfortably between a number of highly-skilled, unrelated tasks, quickly picking up new things and creating or implementing items from scratch, without guidance or supervision. They will be required to swiftly develop a detailed understanding of the business and to maintain a thorough understanding of the NHS, the political climate, and working for a senior leader within a complex environment.
The role will have responsibility for the professional and efficient operations of the office in dealing with a complex array of internal and external NHS and commercial stakeholders.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
Experience
* Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
* Experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.
* Understanding of the public sector.
* Experience in a healthcare environment.
* Experience of procurement, contracting, or commissioning within the NHS or other public sector organisation.
Knowledge
* Extensive specialist knowledge of procurement acquired through degree, post-graduate diploma, MCIPS, or equivalent experience/training.
