Our client is seeking a competent Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
Primary Purpose
Oversee the commercial and contractual management of site activities and contractors
Provision of services and responsibilities
Overall lead of all site commercial activities, is up to date (overview) of all commercial site issues
Identifies and takes advantage of commercial opportunities and minimises commercial risks at the construction site
Guides and monitors other commercial site personnel, and allocates of tasks to the team
Responsible for the claim management for site works, establishes necessary supporting documentation, assesses risk as well as incoming and outgoing claim potentials in close coordination with the relevant work package holder.
Ensures all site related commercial aspects of changes/deviations/claims are documented in PIRS in close cooperation with the technical, project, and procurement staff.
Participates in regular site meetings with the project team, subcontractors, consortium, and client, verifies respective minutes of meeting.
Ensures that all necessary contractual correspondence is acted upon to protect HZI's contractual position
Ensures correct administration of payment procedures in accordance with contract and legislation, and issues respective documents correctly and in time
Together with relevant technical or project personnel participates in commercial negotiations to reach agreements with subcontractors for allocated packages
Resolves ,proposes solutions for, or escalates site commercial issues
Supports Project Director and Contract Manager Execution in client related commercial issues and alerts them in relation to site issues that might have an impact on the contract with the client
Maintains subcontract cost reports for subcontract site packages and present/ report to senior management
Confirms site contractors compliance with insurance and securities provisions during the execution phase
Informs Commercial Manager Execution and Site Manager on a regular basis on commercial risks and opportunities.
Establishes documentation for insurance purposes
Support the Contract Manager in providing supporting information to the insurers in the event of a claim
Establishes constructive relationship within the team, with other site personnel and subcontractors.
Professional Qualifications
Qualified Quantity Surveyor > 10 years experience
Strong experience in major project delivery including construction of industrial plant
Proficient with standard form and bespoke contracts - NEC and FIDIC an advantage
Familiar with applicable HSEQ legal requirements

Project construction site experience of advantage
