Peace Recruitments new client, a multi-disciplinary independent private practice, are looking to recruit a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Glasgow. This is a busy and varied role providing support to the Surveying team on a wide range of projects, primarily residential and commercial buildings in all forms of construction. My client have ambitious plans to expand over the next few years and are looking for people who share the same vision. The post is a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week covering sites across Scotland. Responsibilities Inspect and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites. Inspections to involve acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations To prepare reports, schedule of works and works specifications To design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and to current technical standards. Undertake large value projects independently with sound knowledge on all aspects of professional consultancy services. To understand and apply other relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning. To play an active part in promoting the company’s services to secure projects To provide supervision and support to APC candidates to promote knowledge and understanding. At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations Qualifications MRICS or experienced non RICS qualified Experience Experience in handling design/contract administration of insurance claims / large losses Experience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural and planning practices and procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications and guidelines Experience and knowledge of Party Wall Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects Experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regs legislation Qualities and Skills Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills and the ability to think methodically to problem solve Excellent verbal and written communication skills Flexible and Variable Attitude to work type In return Up to £60 (DOE) Company Bonus 7.5% Pension contribution Flexible working 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
